Modern Farmhouse exterior design has been a Maddyn Homes staple since the beginning, but we LOVE to get creative with it.
As time has passed and design has evolved, we've embraced the challenge of blending tradition with innovation, pushing the boundaries of what a Modern Farmhouse can be. Today, our signature style has expanded, taking inspiration from Modern French Country and Modern European design elements. This evolution has allowed us to create homes that not only resonate with the cozy, familiar charm of the farmhouse aesthetic, but also incorporate the timeless elegance of European architecture.

Modern Farmhouse Roots:
Clean Lines & Simple Silhouettes: Clean lines and understated elegance that define the Modern Farmhouse style.
Natural Materials: We love to source materials like wood, brick, and stone to help contrast the clean siding, like board & batten, that typically accompanies Farmhouse design! Incorporating natural materials and different textures helps to achieve a warm and welcoming curb appeal in any style of home.
Neutral Color Palettes: Whites, grays, and earth tones remain a staple, offering a versatile backdrop that complements any decor. We love to challenge that with the occasional moody exterior you know and love!
Other Key Elements Include… Metal roofs, wraparound patios, details like shutters and flower boxes, gooseneck lights, and gridded windows all speak to the classic Farmhouse style!
Modern French Country Inspiration & European Influence:
Elegant Rooflines & Gables: Drawing from French country estates, a lot of our elevations feature steep rooflines and intricate gable details.
Mix of Textures: We love to mix textures, combining stucco or smooth plaster with organic stone, wood beams and iron railing, creates depth and interest.
Symmetry & Proportion: European design is all about balance. We incorporate symmetrical facades and well-proportioned windows to create a harmonious look.
Soft, Muted Colors: Unlike the bolder colors of traditional farmhouse design, our European-inspired homes often feature soft, muted tones that compliment those of the environment around them.
Both styles inspire us and share a lot of similar design elements too! Prioritizing indoor/outdoor living, plenty of natural light, thoughtfully designed landscaping, and an overall clean look are just a few things that makes the blend of these styles so natural to us!
